UCSD undergraduate students
Our lab welcomes enthusiastic, motivated, and organized undergraduate students to join our team. Our research assistants (RAs) often come from different backgrounds, interested in cognitive science, psychology, linguistics, or other areas. Our research assistants are involved in a variety of tasks (more below), with the opportunity to acquire new skills, receive close mentorship, and learn more about cognitive and language development.
How do I apply? We typically start recruiting at the end of each quarter for the following quarter. If you are interested in joining the lab, please fill out this application. After filling out the application, we may reach out to you to follow up. If you have any questions, please contact our lab manager at lillabcoordinator@ucsd.edu.
What's involved? We request our RAs remain in the lab for a minimum of 3 quarters, with a commitment of 6-12 hours/week. As an RA, you will most likely be working under a senior lab member (lab manager, graduate student) to assist with various projects. Some of these responsibilities could include:
- Attending weekly lab meetings and RA meetings
- Collecting data at on- and off-campus locations (e.g., local museums, schools)
- Helping create stimuli and materials for studies
- Working with and analyzing data
- Communicating with families and participants
